Whitsundays

We got up early to pack everything in the car, and get ready for the bus pick-up to the Marina where our boat was waiting for us. We bought Tim Tams at the reception of the caravan park, and ate them while waiting. The boat was much smaller than the one in Cape Tribulation, and […]

Cape Tribulation and the Reef

We got up with a lot of condensation on the windows of the car! The night has been chilly! We went to the campground to refresh a bit, and ate the Tim Tams and doughnuts we had bought the previous day for breakfast near the beach. We went on the beach to take a few […]

West MacDonnell Ranges to Kings Canyon

As for all the following nights, sleeping in the car gave us the advantage of being able to start the day with the sun, without having to spend time packing a tent for example. We went to see the Big Hole right after a breakfast of bread slices with jam. Although still quite dark, the […]

Alice Springs to West MacDonnell Ranges

Thursday the 9th, that was it, the start of a long awaited vacation! We had planned this vacation a few months before, a road trip of 5000km from Alice Springs to Broome in 12 days! It started with a few setbacks though, as Mai Anh forgot her ID at home (it was fortunate we realized […]

Red Tuesday

Today is red, because luck turned back our way, and red is the color of luck in Asian culture 🙂 First, I could withdraw money again 🙂 Second, I got a call from the photo shop: they received the lens! So after work, Mai Anh and I went to get the “in dream” Canon Macro […]

Yellow Monday

Today is tagged “yellow” because I cooked Banh Xeo, and Banh Xeo is yellow! Banh Xeo is a Vietnamese crepe filled with shrimps, mung beans, bean sprouts and sometimes ground pork as well. We accompanied the dish with a delicious strawberry smoothie with pearls that Mai Anh prepared ! Yummy yummy !!!

Black Sunday

Today was a very unlucky day … bad luck followed bad luck … First, I went out to withdraw money at the ATM and got a very friendly message “card denied” … Second, I went to the photo shops to find the macro lens MAi Anh and I have dreamed about for the last six […]

My 11th apartment in a year and a half!

Here it is, that’s the eleventh! I am not too sure how long I will be living in it, at least a few weeks I hope, cause it took me about a week to unpack all the 33 boxes!!! Pity is that Mai Anh still hasn’t been in the apartment, and probably won’t be before […]

Back to writing!

It’s been too long a time I did not write anything in there! So why start again? Probably because I had a great time seeing many friends in France this Winter, and loved catching up! It’s good to see that despite the distance, friendship stands still. So I’ll give it a little help by trying […]

An Extraordinary Friend in Brazil

Alexis is one of my oldest friends. We met in high school where we were in the same class for a couple of years. We hanged out together and as the last year was coming to an end, we planned a bike trip. We took the minimum on our bicycles, and headed for Deauville. As […]
